1) Create a teacher account linked to the computing lead email, but use as the only school teacher account. Use a ‘School name + Coding’ kind of user name. This is the one teacher account that should be used by all teachers (NOT PUPILS). This means that all pupils can keep their scratch credentials till they leave school and every year you only create the Yr 3 accounts.
Another advantage of creating a single school account is that you have more teachers overseeing the comments and projects. Scratch team do moderate, but teachers need to moderate a little bit too, specially ensuring pupils interact positively with others and remain anonymous (no personal info).
2) Once the anonymous pupil accounts have been created, get all pupils to sign the Scratch User Agreement, which we have created to encourage pupils to use Scratch responsibly. See parent letter and scratch pupil agreement attached below.
